The lessons are taught by native speakers, while letters and words are presented and repeated at regular intervals.
The strategies used in the lessons foster an extended period of listening before speech production occurs, comprehensible and meaningful communication at the children’s developmental level’s, and a low-stress learning environment. Learning is more likely to take place when children are motivated and self-confident. Children may listen, respond, and participate nonverbally in the activities rather than start speaking the target language right away.
The lessons use a wide variety of visuals, examples, and experiences to provide a context for understanding. According to an exploratory case study of pre recorded instruction of foreign language called “Morris” (2000), professionals suggested that their students learned the most from the following:
• TPR (Total Physical Response) as a teaching technique
• Extensive and authentic use of foreign language
• Clear pronunciation by native speakers
• Use of catchy tunes
• Frequent repetition
• Humor in the presentation of the content
• Interesting video characters
• Appropriate content connections to grade level curriculum
Comprehension is our major goal. Our program will give your children a head start in that process so that when they have opportunities to be in direct contact with the language or to continue their studies, they will have a big advantage over children who are hearing the language for the first time.
